I have known Scott King for approximately three and a half years. He is one of our specialist trainers for our carers and as I manage carer training, we have been in regular contact throughout that time. I also attend all training that our carers are given to ensure the quality of training is maintained.
Scott has the experience of growing up within the care system and therefore has a real understanding of the child’s view of the care system. He is an engaging, warm and empathic individual who is excellent at understanding trauma and trauma based behaviours. He has an extremely positive relationship with our carers and is adept at ‘reading between the lines’ to ensure that the worries and concerns of carers are addressed within the training forum.
Scott has always been highly professional, respectful and reliable. He builds trust and confidence in the carers quickly. His delivery of training is honest and, at times, raw – feedback from the carers following his training is always very positive and they greatly appreciate his ability to adapt his training to reflect the level of experience of the carers.
I have an excellent working relationship with Scott. He is adaptive, happy to tailor training to meet the needs of our organisation and is excellent at keeping me informed. He is open to developing bespoke courses and ensuring that he meets the needs of the carers.
